Microsoft software overview
Availability: Microsoft software is available to Uniting Church congregations, members and ministers (and some agencies, upon verification) through a Microsoft ‘Open Charity’ agreement at pricing levels significantly below retail. Information on the products available, terms of license, and an online ordering system all appear on this site.
To order software:
- Select products below (or from the Office orWindows pages) and pay for them securely using your credit card or PayPal account.
- Enter your licensee details using the online form.

For more options, including Microsoft Office 2010 system requirements, check out the Microsoft Office products page.
Electronic fulfilment: at this stage ‘electronic fulfilment’ (software download) is NOT available. Please purchase the license + media, unless you are buying more than one license in which case buy one license + media plus the number of additional licenses you need.
Trial versions: please note that Microsoft have advised us that the trial versions of Office and other software available online are not compatible with the product/license keys that are available through the Uniting Church’s ‘Open Charity’ license arrangements. If you’re happy with the trial software and want to purchase a legitimate license, you’ll need to uninstall the trial version and re-install the software from the media that is distributed through Uniting.biz.
Agency: Uniting.biz acts only as an independent third-party agent to provide special pricing on Microsoft software for the Uniting Church, is not part of the Uniting Church in Australia, and cannot guarantee the suitability or technical support for these products in any way. We do however do our best to ensure that you can install and use the software as you expect to, and have been providing this service to congregations of the Uniting Church for over a decade.
This is not the way everyone will choose to buy Microsoft software (see the Pros and Cons on the FAQ page), but it can provide substantial discounts on much of the common software people use.
